Britney Spears Back With New Album in May

It was confirmed today that Britney Spears will be back with a new album by May of next year, recording starts in January and the album is set to a urban affair ala 2007’s “Blackout”.

Mostly what’s going through my mind is,  YES about time I loved Blackout so much and to this day I believe its Brit’s best work, funny considering the situation at the time, however also I’m just wondering if perhaps we may get a resurgence of the Britney we once knew who tore up music video’s like “Slave 4 U”, “Boys” and “Toxic”. As of lately I haven’t seen anything which has really wowed me. I just want the best for Brit really I used to love being able to watch a performance and know Brit was gonna dance her ass off, a Janet Jackson/Madonna inspiration If I ever saw one.

*EDIT*: Wouldn’t it be cool if Britney and Ciara collaborated on a  track, better yet a music video.

Britney Spears-AlexanderFederline-Something

Britney Spears is about to add another last name to her repertoire.  She’s getting all annoying again like those married people who h-y-p-h-e-n-a-t-e their last names on Facebook (you know who you are).   OK Magazine says she is going to announce her love to another man and get hitched.  Seriously, it’s gotta stop.  She’s turning into a Marriage-aholic.

Hey Adam Lambert & Lady Gaga: Shouldn't it be about the music?

What the hell happened last night at the American Music Awards? When did they become the new shock-you-silly awards show to replace the now-vanilla MTV Video Music Awards?

The new recipe for an awards show is this:

*Taylor Swift wins everything; no fewer than five statues.

*Lady Gaga performs in a weird getup after arriving in a weird getup.

*Someone does something shocking, either Lady Gaga or a surprise…like an “American Idol” channeling old Bowie/Madonna stuff.

*All hip-hop performers keep it clean and classy.

*Janet Jackson shows no skin. Ever. Again. America still hasn’t healed from the nipplegate backlash, although after Adam Lambert last night, we’ve moved on to Crotchgate.

Speaking of Crotchgate…

I understand Adam Lambert’s need to distance himself from the squeaky clean-ness of “American Idol.”  But is that really a need? I also understand the need to do something to keep his name prominent in the headlines today–the day his album “For Your Entertainment” drops.  There’s no such thing as bad press, after all.  Even if you mash a male dancer’s face into your crotch, caress a female dancer’s crotch, and make out with your male keyboard player–all after playing the sadomasochist part with two dancers on leashes–you still get press.  I get it; you’re playing both sides of the fence, trying to court both female and male fans with bisexuality and a cheesy but androgynous album cover.

But shouldn’t it be about the music?

I’m a fan of both Adam Lambert and Lady Gaga.  After last night’s AMA performances from both, I am SMH today.  Both artists can stand on talent alone.  Both can sing, both have a flare for performing.  I’m all for outrageous when it fits.  But when it becomes about being outrageous for the sake of being outrageous, that’s when it gets lame.  Contrived.  Fake.  Silly.  Annoying.

Don’t play the tortured artist bit on stage.  Gaga had gigs writing songs for others before she got her “Fame” and Lambert was doing pretty good for himself acting alongside Val Kilmer in the stage show of “The Ten Commandments.”  While either one was hardly pulling in millions, both were working artists.  I think that’s always the goal, right?  Both could have still been serving meals during their first showbiz gigs for all I know.  But hey, a gig’s a gig.

Just go on stage and perform.  Just show me your talent and remind me why I’m a fan.  Even a simple performance can be captivating.  It doesn’t always have to be outlandish.  I thought Jennifer Lopez’s performance of “Louboutins” was great.  It was creative and she pulled it off, except for the fall…  If I even think about Louboutins I fall down, so I totally understand.

You want simple?  Captivating?  Something that stands on the strength of the music alone?  Try watching Lady Antebellum’s performance at the Country Music Awards.  Has “Need You Now” not been the top single on iTunes (or near the top) every day since?

Or, from the AMAs last night, how about Whitney Houston singing “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.”  That was amazing!  She was flawless.

Or Jay-Z and Alicia Keys who were just classy.

Look, I don’t need flames, crazy outfits, and controversy.  What I do want is music.  I’d love to have music with opulence.  Flash is OK, but just keep it in good taste.  We’re in a recession (duh).  People want less bullsh!t during a recession.  Flashiness and perky music isn’t popular during a recession.  Remember the 1990s?  It was a crap financial time that birthed Kurt Cobain and flannel shirts.  Remember the late 1990s as things turned around?  It was poppy, perky Britney Spears and N’Sync.  Glam rock?  New wave?  That was during the glory of the 1980s.  Artists should take a cue from the times we live in, maybe be inspired by…reality.

Britney welcomed by Brisbane fans amid miming claims

Pop princess Britney Spears was given a huge welcome by Brisbane fans despite claims of her miming.

Spears, 27, who had landed in a controversy involving her lip-synching while on tour, was cheered on by the crowd at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on November 22, reports the Courier Mail.

Almost 10,000 fans rooted for her, and some even wore T-shirts with “leave Britney alone” and “save Britney” slogans on them.

The Toxic singer was hoisted high above the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in the arm of an umbrella, as she played the part of the ringmaster.

Magic Date November 23rd

What’s up with releasing all these albums on the same day? I know they’re trying to jump start the holiday season and this is a good time to release albums, but seriously all on the same day?

Shakira She Wolf    I liked the song She Wolf whether other people liked it or not I can’t say.

Lady Gaga   Fame Monster    Listen to the dark side of fame.  Some of the songs are scary so watch out, but they’re all addictive.

Beyonce     Iam…Yours  Live album   Beyonce’s first live album and she’s got pipes that are shown off live.

Adam Lambert  For Your Entertainment   Glam

Rihanna     Rated R        Was this written for Chris Brown? Some of it is kind of it is frightening and sounds really rough.

Susan Boyle   I Dreamed a Dream   She can sing for real.

Kenny G     Holiday Album     Yes he’s releasing an album

And it looks like Britney Spears was a little off with release of her singles collection.

Are you planning to buy one of the many albums released on November 23rd?  In person or on itunes? Or are you just into singles?  Personally I’m getting the fame monster.  I haven’t figured out if I’m getting the version with the fame attached or not.  I’m buying the actual physical CD  because I want the cover.

Sometimes I feel like I live in Grand Central Staaayshun

Lady Gaga and Beyoncé have teamed up for not one but two tracks together, one Beyoncé feat. Lady Gaga and one Lady Gaga feat. Beyoncé. If that wasn’t confusing enough, both songs have ‘phone’ in the title.

Video Phone, the Beyoncé feat. Lady Gaga effort is actually nothing really too special, simply a slightly remixed version of one of Beyoncé’s album tracks with a bit of Lady Gaga thrown in. The two were spotted last month filming a music video for this song, but it’s unclear as to whether the second track, Telephone, will get a release.

Telephone, which is Lady Gaga feat. Beyoncé (how confusing) was actually offered to Britney Spears for her last album. And then she almost appeared on this version but that obviously didn’t pan out. It’s hard to see why she turned it down since it’s an almost guaranteed hit, and far better than a lot of the filler on Circus, and indeed Video Phone. Whereas in Video Phone Lady Gaga doesn’t really add anything spectacular to the song, Beyoncé’s section of Telephone is actually probably the highlight of the song.

Both songs are being released as each singer’s next single, so prepare for more confusion in the coming weeks.

Listen, compare and contrast below.

Danger of the Age of Technology

Imagine having your pop culture icon sending you messages about her love for Lucifer. For Britney Spears fans, these disturbing messages were sent today. A hacker broke into her Twitter account, posting Tweets that read, “I give myself to Lucifer every day for it to arrive as quickly as possible. Glory to Satan!” While this is a joke by a power hungry hacker, it still should serve as a reminder of the fallibility of the Internet. We are in constant danger of people who are not who they claim to be and in danger of hackers stealing our account and identity. This makes me question, are we better served through the new influx of technology?

In the case of social networking sites, I think their prior appeal has faded. Sites like Facebook used to be a spot to post pictures and keep up with friends. It now transformed into a beast, where students post their every emotion, from election results to game scores. When I access my Facebook account, I often wonder, who cares? Why do people run to their computers or use their cell phones to post that they have a busy day? If they were so busy, they would not have the time to Facebook and instead would dedicate their time to the tasks of the day. Furthermore, Facebook is now overcrowded with older people boasting about their children. The former site for college students is now the place for stay-at-home moms to report about their children’s sicknesses and accomplishments. Again I wonder who cares.

Although I do not have a Twitter account, I see the effect of these accounts. When celebrity Miley Cyrus deleted her account, entertainment reporters and fans were in an uproar. They did not sympathize with the teenage girl who wanted some privacy, instead they became the victim, feeling like Cyrus turned her back on them. This type of reaction exhibits how Twitter is destroying the lines between fan and friend. By hearing about every action of a celebrity’s day, the fans develop a closer relationship. As a result, fans think they are a part of the celebrity’s life and become even more obsessed. Although it is good to have communication between celebrities and fans, it is not healthy to have this type of communication.

A solution to the surge of Internet communication is setting clear limits and pushing ourselves to follow the limitations each day. Status updates are becoming an addiction for some users. To cure the addiction, people need to realize exactly how much time they are wasting on these sites. Once the problem becomes apparent, they can make a time-chart of social network site use. Limiting ourselves to a half hour each morning on the sites is both the healthy and responsible way to use them.

Britney Spears in miming shock!

“Britney Spears mimes”. It’s hardly the most scandalous of stories, but Australian fans are angry after shelling out over £100 for tickets, only for the pop princess to lip-synch her way through her Circus tour.

Now there have been calls for artists who are going to mime through a show to put disclaimers on the tickets telling people that their show is going to be pre-recorded.

It all seems a bit ridiculous to me. I’ve always thought that if an artist has a tricky routine to master aswell as singing, miming’s OK. Who wants to hear heavy breathing down the mic as Britters busts some moves to Toxic or Hit Me Baby One More Time? Anyway, as many have pointed out, you don’t go to a Britney Spears concert expecting it to be live – you expect a spectacle – dancing, circus tricks, the general atmosphere of a great gig.

Perhaps it is a good idea to put disclaimers on tickets to avoid the backlash from a few disgruntled gig-goers. I’m sure it won’t have any effect on ticket sales and it would keep the anti-miming brigade quiet. Considering how much I’ve heard about lip-synching over the past few weeks, I think that would be a great thing…

Kevin Federline denies daddy rumours

Is Kevin Federline preparing for fatherhood again?

According to The National Enquirer, K-Fat K-Fed is expecting a child with current squeeze, Victoria Prince.

The 31-year-old, rapper already has two sons with ex-wife, Britney Spears – Sean Preston, four, and Jayden James, three.

He also fathered a daughter, seven-year-old, Kori, and a son, five-year-old, Kaleb with actress and former girlfriend, Shar Jackson.

A source told the US magazine: “The test was positive. She told Kevin that she was pregnant, but he didn’t seem happy to hear the news.”

Federline’s spokesperson has debunked the rumours, simply stating the allegations “are not true“.

This guy must super-fertile. It seems like every relationship he enters, results in pregnancy.

Kris Allen's Album (Plus Britney's new Video!)

I saw from Facebook about the limited offer to the first 1000 buyers of Kris Allen’s debut album.  Sadly, my chance of getting this signed lithograph is 0%!!! because the offer is only for US buyers.  Waaa!!!  Anyway, for those of you out there who want to help out a little girl get one of these, please comment/send me a message. I will find ways to pay the $19. ^^  Well, I just feel like I’ve been part of Kris’ success, ahem, being one of those who recognized him ever since ‘Man in the Mirror’.  So please, this is kinda important.

On other news, Britney spears just made a ‘huge’ comeback with her newest music video (out just last Nov. 1).  Here it is:

All I can say is that, at least, Britney looks better than what she has been.  She’s got all muscly and stuff, but blonder and as daring as ever too.  I have no qualms against her ‘Toxic’ self, you see.  It’s just that I knew her as the lovely girl in ‘Sometimes’… but you know, she can’t remain girly forever.  I was thinking that perhaps, she’s turning into a blonde Beyonce.  No, no, no.  New Madonna, as what she always wanted to be?  Perhaps.  Well, for whatever it’s worth, I think her catchy (although repetitive) ‘3′ will do her great once again.

I will always love you, Britney.

X-Factor: We Will Rock U Off The Stage

X-Factor this week was Rock week also it was a Halloween special. Before watching the show, iWas thinking… Hmmmm this is gonna be very difficult for some contestants as not all of them have the Rock voice never mind a Pop voice! So it was very interesting to watch!

First of to perform in this weeks Rock week was Joe. He sang Don’t Stop Believing by Journey. Joe’s performance was alright! He did the Rock/Pop song… Which is safe! iWasn’t actually expecting him to Green Day it out! Joe is defiantly the best contestant Cheryl has in the competition! The one thing iHave to agree with Simon is the two contemporary dancers he had at the back of him! It was Rock week! Where the hell does Contemporary dancing come in with Rock music!? iHave no idea! But it was a good performance vocally. However if he wins… i’m not sure if I will buy his album or single.

Next to Perform was Lucie Jones, Lucie is very … She can sing defiantly! She is a ballad singer defiantly! but if she went down the rock road she would defiantly be another Avril Lavigne. Lucie looked like Avril Lavigne on Saturday nights show. She did look sort of Sexy sitting on the Gold Sofa and the high heel boots! iThink this was the week that Lucie has stepped up her game! Her voice defiantly suits rock! She defiantly looked and sang like a Rock star! Well done Lucie for stepping up ur game! It’s good to be a Versatile vocalist!

Next to perform was the DRAMA KING Danyl Johnson. If u are a regular reader of my blog, u will know that I’m not a big fan of Danyl Johnson and iPersonally think he is overrated! His vocal’s in my eyes are not the best! And he isn’t the best singer in the X-Factor. This week Drama King Danyl was an emotional roller coaster because someone on my FAVOURITE SOCIAL NETWORK SITE: TWITTER said that “He is more hated than Hitler” What do iHave to say to that comment… LAUGHING-MY-FUCKING-ASS-OFF (Excuse my french) Us tweeters are Harsh Danyl don’t take no notice! We just over react with our words! Danyl performed “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing – AeroSmith” and iHave to say – for me… It was his BEST PERFORMANCE so far! I really liked his performance! But when he stopped singing he looks like he has hit DEPRESSION! Cheer up Danyl! If u can handle coming out of the closet of being Bisexual or Gay or whatever u r LOL! U can handle being hated more than Hitler… because u really ain’t! the Twins are! Every contestant in the X-Factor has Haters & Lovers! U shall overcome like Alexandra Burke sings!

Next to sing was Weak singer Lloyd Daniels. Lloyd last week got told by Louis that he shouldn’t be a Solo artist he should be in a boy band and I agree with Louis. Lloyd is a weak solo singer and its a DISGRACE that he is just in the X-Factor because of his Looks! Public … Since when did Talent depend on ur looks… Well it does… But it has to have a BALANCE! Lloyd sang “I Kissed a Girl – Katy Perry” it was TERRIBLE! Katy Perry isn’t a good singer but Lloyd made Katy sound like Mariah Carey for goodness sake! Lloyd… iThink ur time is up mate, Good looks don’t take u that far! I’m telling u that now! Any Ladies reading this… Can u tell me what u like about Lloyd please! iWould love to know!

Stacey was next, and in the past weeks all we see is Stacey stand still and just sing… Not use that Big stage she has been given! This week Stacey used the stage! and it was good. Simon said “U WALKED!” like it was a miracle like Jesus dropped down from Heaven and let her walk from being Crippled! But her performance was good. She defiantly can sing without a doubt! iDo think she will win the X-Factor she is one of the best within this competition! Stacey Sang “Somewhere Only We Know – U2″. I do agree with Louis that it was a bit boring! But her vocals was on point and that is what matters.

Next to sing was Jamie Archer, This week is defiantly Jamie’s week! He is a Rock-Star all over! Jamie sang “Rocks – Primal Scream” Jamie didn’t just sing like a Rock-star he looked like a rock-star! He had dancers, the musicians with the guitars! He was defiantly rocking it this week! And so he should, Jamie has a rock voice and its all he knows! and iRespect Simon for keeping Jamie Rocky! Even though Rock is not my Genre of music. iKnow Talent when iSee it, and Jamie will be a Brilliant Rock-singer! Even if he doesn’t win X-factor he defiantly will be successful within the rock industry without a DOUBT! iDisagree with Louis that Jamie isn’t original! He is original! Hello! If Jamie came out and sang “Britney Spears I love Rock N Roll” then u can say he isn’t Original! Jamie is the only X-Factor Contestant that has stuck to his Guns! He is far by more Original than the Twins!

The next contestant to sing was my Favourite Contestant RACHEL ADEDEJI! She sang “One Love – U2 Feat. Mary J. Blige” This performance was very soulful! She hit a big note in the song, Cheryl said it was the performance that expressed the soulful side of her voice. iThink Dannii picked a good song for Rachel to sing. Because it was Rock/Soulful iThink it was a good song choice. However Simon said that Dannii is making Rachel look like a mini Dannii. I’m not to sure about that but this week Rachel looked like Alexandra with the Fringe. iDo think X-Factor have Rachel’s image messed up! A lot of people wasn’t feeling the dress Rachel had on this week, or her hair but that’s just people being Critical (Like iAm in this blog… LOL)

Next to turn up on Stage… Was Satan and his demons himself! John & Edward aka JEdward. They sang “We Will Rock U – 5ive feat. Queen!” Urgh… I’m not even saying nothing! Dannii took the words out of my mouth! It was Scary! THE E.N.D!

Last but not least was Olly Murs. He sang “Come Together – The Beatles”. Olly’s performance was magically. Not his best. But it can cut the cheese! Rock defiantly isn’t Olly’s type of music. But he pulled it off! As he always does. Olly defiantly my next favourite Contestant in X-Factor this year! If he wins iSee him singing something like Peter Andre does. Pop/R&B/Soul stuff. Here is Olly’s performance:

The Approval Matrix

1.Oscar de la Renta Given “Super Star” Award is highbrow brilliant, because Oscar de la Renta  has a high status in haute couture design, whose career has spanned for six decades. And the award was granted The Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars.

2.”Michael Jackson’s This Is It” pulled in $101 million worldwide in its first five days is highbrow brilliant, obviously since it is Michael Jackson and the most successful concert movie of all time.

3.Rock ‘n’ roll royalty U2, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen and the Black Eyed Peas performed  at the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert on Saturday Oct 31st. It is Highbrow brilliant.

4. Hulk Hogan’s personality shines in his memoir. This is highbrow despicable, because first of all I don’t believe he is capable to write a book and secondly the content of the book must be fake and this is just a way to make money. I think everything has been arranged and acted.

5. Sarah Palin reported Tuesday that she has received at least $1.25 million for her hugely anticipated upcoming memoir “Going Rogue.” It is highbrow despicable.

6. The Brooklyn Museum’s showed “Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present”  It is highbrow brilliant.

7.Ban on tight trousers for women in parts of an Indonesia province. It is lowbrow despicable, because the strict Islamic law shouldn’t apply to every woman. The government policy is called into question.

8.Mother Dina and daughter Linday teamed up against the father Michael. This is Lowbrow and despicable. Mother and daughter both has too much cocaine in their systems, and the father Michael is equally crazy. The family fell apart and they are all losers.

9.“1,2,3 baby….” Britney Spears’s new song 3 debut, and it is located in the middle of the matrix where is close to lowbrow and despicable. Although Britney for many still a pop princess but I can’t forget her previous odd behaviors and I think she is pretty trash due to choices of her another half. The song is nothing special, just average.
