3

It’s a good day to be a Britney fan. Today Britney’s new single, “3″ was released in anticipation of The Singles Collection, which is being released November 24th.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Umm…wasn’t My Prerogative a greatest hits CD? I’m not buying another one. Shit, I got bills to pay.” Well, my friend, you are a bad fan. And Brit’s released a lot of singles since My Prerogative came out. And you’d better buy the Ultimate Fan Box Set which includes two discs of all the singles, every music video ever, and all the album art with additional pictures and trivia. That is fucking gold. I will die without that.

Anyways, onto discussion of “3″.

Can you guess what it’s about? If you said “threesomes”, you’re correct!”

1, 2, 3
Not only you and me
Got one eighty degrees
And I’m caught in between

Stuff of genius, my friend. She’s a living legend (you can look but don’t touch).

And for you’re listening pleasure, here is the song:

I’ll be honest, I was at first apprehensive for the song when I read some descriptions of it, but I ended up loving it. it’s more Circus than Blackout, but that’s okay. It’s so catchy and fun and I can’t wait to play it at our next dance party!

I love Britney Spears!

Kpop and plagiarism

To tell you the truth this is old news. Totally. I’m sort of sick of the topic already and I can’t stand it! So why am I writing about? Because I feel like it and I haven’t really posted anything about it before so why not get it off my chest eh?

First off as I’m listen to Big Bang’s mini album ‘Hot Issue’ I’m not a hater on Big Bang. I actually really enjoy their music. GD and TOP is  good rappers and the whole group as a whole really compliments the music scene. I really do believe that YG is a good company and really tries to bring the main stream to Korea. I listen to tons of kpop ranging from epik high all the way to 4minute. But why is it so hard to be original now adays? Even in a mainstream sense you can still maintain your originality. Is it really that hard that people have to lift things off other tracks?

GD and plagiarism. I do think that he intentionally took that riff from Flo Riders song. Even though the beat is different the lyrics are not even the same. It doesn’t matter. It is clearly taken from the song and people who deny this FACT is just in self denial or just very tone deaf. And the claims between Oasis’s song ’she’s electiric’ and GD’s song ‘Butterfly’….come one…are you seriously denying this one too? No way. Oasis is a BIG band. Everyone to Japan to USA knows who Oasis is. Same goes for the oh so popular song from Flo Rider. People have been arguing that ‘Damn this is such a good market plan!’ Hell no it’s not. publicity stunt in Korea… maybe, because clearly his album is doing GREAT! But overall this stunt totally hurt GD’s career in my opinion. Now the world is watching all of YG with an eagle eye. Already pinning down Teddy’s song ‘I don’t care’ for 2ne1 as plagiarized to Lionel Richie ft Akon – Just Go. It hurt me when he released a public statement stating that

“I’m frustrated, because some people are convinced that I not only referenced, but plagiarized ‘Just Go’……Even if two people live on opposites of the world in totally different environments, they can still have similar facial features”

It was sad because I think Teddy is a really talented composer/producer. He has a great musical head on his shoulders no doubt. Just cuz the feel was the same it doesn’t mean anything. It’s like putting a copyright on emotion. The difference between ‘I don’t care’ and ‘Heartbreaker’ is that for ‘Hearbreaker’ clearly the riff was the same. The feeling was different because GD brought in alot of techno feel to it with the drenching of auto tone that seems to be all the rage now adays, which is not a bad thing because people like it. ‘I Don’t care’ and the plagiarism remarks with ‘Just go’ was just wrong and Sony should really take that back.

Big Bang’s song ‘ With U’ and being compared to Joe’s ‘Ride with U’ I’m a little iffy on this one. Because ‘ride with you’ is a common expression. But what brought this song to the attention of plagiarism was because the chorus sounded the same. If you listen to it you’d know. However, the rest of the song was different. I think that brings us back to GD’s ‘Hearbreatker’ Just because a part of the song sounded the same….is it plagiarism?? Yes. You can get inspired, like I think Teddy does from different songs taking different elements and making his own, his view of what would be a better song. But for the stated it was just totally lifted which is again the problem.

Now 4minute’s song ‘Funny’ and being compared to Britney spear’s song ‘ If you seek Amy’. Hum is this another tone deaf remark to say it wasn’t taken from the song. CLEARLY it was. They got the whole thing down. From the annoying set up of the song to the weird catch phrase in the song. But I have to admit the lyrics in the 4minute one was way better. But that doesn’t make for a better song nor an excuse for plagiarism.

overall people should just do music on their own. BUT people should nit pick and call ‘PLAGARISM” out due to a 30 second span in a song or a commonly used composing such as ‘ o “>o “>o o o o o o ‘ like that. It’s annoying and people should just really let up on the whole issue. Reason why I spent so much attention on Gd is because he’s the biggest story in the plagiarism world….now isn’t that a depressing title to get.

Cheryl's interview on Pirate FM

Cheryl was on radio station Pirate FM this afternoon in the drivetime slot to promote her debut single Fight For This Love. She spoke about her achievements and aspirations as part of Girls Aloud, the X Factor and gave a few details on her upcoming album Three Words and shared her excitement for the 2nd single, the title track itself.

Asked about the beginnings of Girls Aloud and her idols/inspirations:

I don’t think you set out with any kind of expectation. When Sound Of The Underground got to number 1 it was like ‘Wow, God, this is amazing!’.

I just loved watching performers – Britney, Michael Jackson etc. I loved the full shebang, all that jazz.

I don’t feel you can say you’ve truly made it until you’ve achieved stuff like winning a BRIT award. That’s the sort of thing you set out to do, what dreams are made of. You feel like you’ve finally been accepted.

Moving onto the X Factor she said:

There’s always that thing of ‘ohh, people who go on shows like the X Factor get the easy road’. That’s not true at all. You’ve got that level of exposure and profile you then have to prove yourself from then on.

I wouldn’t say i’ve spotted a winner. There’s no one i could say yet, you never know what’s gonna unfold on the live shows.

Speaking about the Passions TV series and how she came to work with Will.I.Am:

Originally i was gonna go back and learn how to do ballet, as that’s what i did when i was young, and hopefully end up getting a solo shot in a London ballet. But then i thought, i’d tried that as a kid already, and i loved watching street dancing on the tv, so i decided to go for that instead, and hopefully the end result being ending up in a music video. It was a really organic process.

Cheryl then gave out a few details about her album:

I’m bursting with excitement for people to hear the title track Three Words. I really wanted it to be the first single, as Fight For This Love wasn’t always going to be it. There’s a big responsibility for me stepping out solo. I’ve written half the album as well as allowing some of the best songwriters i nthe world to showcase through me.

She then finished off with her feelings on supporting Coldplay at Wembley Stadium:

Highlight of my Girls Aloud career. It was just fantastic. I love Coldplay and even just to be asked to support them… what an accolade.

Listen to the interview here:

Britney Spears spende troppi soldi...

… In carta igienica!!

'Pictures' from July 13th

It’s impossible to find something new to write about Britney today. She has a day off today so I guess she’s chillin’ in L.A right now. I hope she gets some good rest

Yesterday I decided to take some screenprints of some stuff that I recorded when Britney visited Sweden, July 13th. Keep in mind that it’s screenprints and not actual pictures!

I will add the rest in another post!

A Poetisa Britney Spears

Mofadas e e reprimidas, fundamentalmente diferentes,

Desintegrando enquanto testam a nossa comunicação

You Oughta know” (Alanis Morissette).

Jordin Sparks Joining Britney Spears' Circus Tour!

Jordin Online posted some great news about Jordin Sparks joining the legendary Britney Spears on the last leg of her Circus Tour. First Jonas Brothers and now Miss Spears, all in the same season, Jordin is working her way up!

Britney Spears may be the ringmaster, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for another vocal powerhouse under the big top.

Brit’s official blog announced today that Jordin Sparks is joining the second leg of the Circus tour, signing on just in time to hit all of the U.S. hot spots including New York, Los Angeles and two nights in Las Vegas.

Following in the footsteps of former Circus openers Ciara and the Pussycat Dolls, the 19-year-old American Idol champ could not be more thrilled about the pair-up, exclaiming: “Britney’s show is incredible and for me to be a part of it is a great opportunity.”

Sparks released her hit sophomore album, Battlefield, in late July and just wrapped up the North American leg of the Jonas Brothers world tour.

Photoshop serial number naked free download anal.

Our Girls; Brittany Mason, Britney Spears and Kathy Griffin...(But Not Kate Gosselin)

October is almost here! Time to begin pulling out those tweed scarfs and argyle socks to pad the inside of your Chuck Taylor’s! And…begin planning your Halloween Costume! We at the raannt offices are filling our bowls with candy corn and beginning to pull our costumes together as we speak!

Which is why we here at raannt are just a little exhausted from our long weekend of events, parties and planning and are now, settling into catching up on our t.v. shows, and planning out the rest of our social month. (Trying desperately to get out to Las Vegas to visit with our good friend Brittany Mason and to see the final show of the Britney Spears “Circus” tour at Mandalay Bay!)

While you’re waiting for our list of events to attend for the rest of September, enjoy this Kathy Griffin clip we found, “Kate is Enough”, of her parody of Kate Gosselin! Hilarious! “

Newsness; Britney’s ‘Circus’ a dazzling spectacle

REVIEW: Britney’s ‘Circus’ a dazzling spectacle [Grand Forks Herald]

Pretty sure even Britney skeptics were won over by her show last night. It was easy to see why it takes a small army to put on this show.

Britney Spears pop-rocked the Alerus Center on Saturday night in an over-the-top Big Top performance that had everything – leather-clad acrobats descending from the ceiling, sexy scantily clad dancers and an amazing-looking star – but very little live music.

Still, who cares? Lip-synching or singing live, she had the audience right where she wanted them, thrilled and screaming at her “Circus” show.

[...]

By the time the concert was in full force, the seats in the Alerus appeared to be nearly full. There was a lot of space on the floor as fans naturally crowded close to the three-ring circus stage. The love seats that lined the stage – seats that cost $500 – were sold out.

Most people in the audience fell into the age 16 to 30 range, and many were women. Some wore jeans, T-shirts and flip-flops, but there were plenty of short skirts and high heels, leggings with tight racer-back tees, and off-the-shoulder tunics. There was a strong back-to-the-’80s vibe.

Pretty sure it was a couple hundred seats short of a sold out concert. After the concert the Alerus Center exploded onto the rest of Grand Forks – as concert goers made the streets seem like midday instead of almost midnight. Downtown was also EXTREMELY busy – most bars had lines of 20 or more by 12:30am. I knew of people as far away as Alberta and the Twin Cities making there way up to the concert. Again, a great get for Grand Forks and the Alerus Center. Britney made a b-line to the airport, at least I would have to believe she had to, as she has to be in NYC today for the MTV Video Music Awards.

Later.

Blonde or brunette?

This picture is god damn close to PERFECTION!

The hair, the outfit.. B looks amazing. She wore a black sparkly two piece and was a brunette when she performed in Sweden, and I loved THAT! But this lovely hair-do and the beige sparkly outfit totally tops it! She needs some kind of ringleader jacket, though.

I dont know what to think when it comes to Brit’s haircolor.. On one hand – she’s gorgeous as a blonde and deep down I think she totally should stick to it cause that’s Brit in a nutshell, but on the other hand – SHE LOOKS SO GOOD AS A BRUNETTE! My jaw literally dropped the first time I saw the Onyx Hotel Tour. My god, it looked good! Plus, she’s born a brunette – so that might have something to do with why she looked so flawless! My wish totally came true this summer when I saw her during the Circus Tour and her hair was brown! She changed it back to blonde only a few weeks after, so I have a feeling that she did it all for me! Just kidding..

What do you guys think? Should Britney be a blonde or a brunette?

All that glitters...

In the age of Photoshop and Auto-Tune, it’s no real surprise to find that icons don’t actually look nor sound as they do in the media for which they are adored (see, e.g., here and here).  Still, as this Britney Spears feed reminds us, the reality can be jarring…

Your correspondent has done his best to confirm the legitimacy of the loop.  While there’s (understandably) been no confirmation from Ms. Spears’ camp, it’s included here, as he can find no meaningful refutation…  rather, mostly just comments expressing no surprise whatsoever that things are not as they are meant to seem.  The “T-Pain effect,” as it’s come to be known, is now so widespread (again, see– and listen– here) that it seems to be taken for granted.  Indeed, readers can download a T-Pain iPhone app that will do a similar job for them… all of which must be a frustrating state of affairs for performers like Billy Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones, who actually do their own singing, unaided and beautifully.

In any case, it’s a (painful) reminder that too often these days, what glitters isn’t even nearly gold…  indeed, too often it’s tin.

As we reach for the earplugs, we might recall that it was on this date in 2002 (in anticipation of the first anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon) that the TSA “Threat Level” was raised to Orange.  It bounced between Orange (high) and Yellow (elevated) from then until mid-August, 2006, when it returned to Orange– where it remains to this day.

Boa semana !!

Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time (1999)

Britney sings live - first time...in a very long time.

Britney Spears is notoriously known for her lip-synching. [pause] Don’t act like you didn’t know… In her defense, I’m sure it DOES require more work to sing and dance at the same time and it’s not like she hasn’t said before in interviews, “I’m a performer/entertainer.” She never said she was a singer! Then the world introduced us to Miley Cyrus and I thought if this fifteen year old girl can do then Britney sure as hell can too – she just chooses not to.

Tonight at her concert, Britney surprised fans when she decided to do a cover of Alanis Morisette’s “You Oughta Know.” Fans weren’t really expecting her to sing at all, just very good lip-synching and flawless dancing.

Yet, the video proves it. That really IS her belting it out. annnnnd I never said she was actually good, but it’s a step right?! And that’s always the hardest.

Circus

With its title, “Circus” nods knowingly at the madhouse that is Britney Spears’ life, acknowledging that things got a little rough after the release of 2007’s “Blackout”.

It’s no secret that Blackout’s launch didn’t go as planned : the furor surrounding her stumbling MTV Video Music Awards lip-sync of “Gimme More” was eclipsed by her institutionalization — a drama played out live on TV, as so much of her life is — and the loss of custody of her two young boys to ex-husband Kevin Federline, all of which pushed “Blackout” far, far to the background.

Britney herself didn’t exactly seem engaged on “Blackout” — it was a club album, a producer’s showcase, so it didn’t matter if Spears didn’t give herself over completely as the behind-the-boards team carried her through.

That distance, combined with her troubles, did give Britney the appearance of losing control completely, and the best way for a pop star to right herself is through image — hence “Circus”, a friendly remake of the hedonistic “Blackout” that posits that all is better with Britney now, thank you.

If “Blackout” was a producers’ album, “Circus” is a handlers’ album, intent on sweeping away any recent unpleasantness — the only acknowledgement is that title — and acting like nothing ever happened, imagining that this is still a world where Britney remains envied and desired, where she can be dolled up as a gauzy Farrah Fawcett pinup on her album cover, where she can sing a drippy ballad about “My Baby” and have nobody raise an eyebrow. She can get away with the former with a bit more ease than the latter if only because all the time, effort, and money is poured into the club tracks, such as the thumping, stuttering first single “Womanizer” and its better, the relentless “Kill The Lights”, so sleek and sexy it winds up diminishing the rest of the record.

“Kill The Lights” may be exceptional, one of Britney’s best-ever singles, but it also doesn’t have much competition here : it’s one of a handful of tracks that follow through on “Blackout”, while the rest of “Circus” plays it safe, never hitting the beats hard enough to alienate a pop audience but perhaps layering on a bit too much saccharine for dance fans. It’s careful and considered, right down to the single-entendre “If U Seek Amy,” a Katy Perry-styled exercise in crass commercial carnality that is at once the best and worst song here. Best because Max Martin once again works his undeniable pop magic, turning this into a trashy stomper that feels inevitable and eternal, working against any sense of taste or decorum, something that the lyrics work overtime to undercut as they insist that all the boys and all the girls still want to fuck.

This sexy strut doesn’t work, not because Spears’ desirability took a nosedive in the five years since “In The Zone” — although it did — but because Britney’s sexiness never was this explicit ; she teased and hinted, at least in her music, and it feels wrong to have her be so nakedly vulgar here. Still, it was a necessary move, a way to stir up headlines and perhaps snatch the tabloid tiara from Katy’s head, but the rest of the record doesn’t follow through as it resorts Spears’ standard formula : a couple of great dance singles, a couple of pretty good chill-out cuts [best being Bloodshy & Avant's "Unusual You"], a couple of not-good-at-all ballads, and a whole bunch of stuff in the middle.

If she feels marginally more connected here than she did on “Blackout”, it’s a Pyrrhic victory, as “Circus” never feels as sleek or addictive as its predecessor.

Britney Spears News

It is rumored Britney Spears fifth single off her album Circus might be “Unusual You” which was produced by the Bloodshy & Avant dance-ballad and has been a fan favorite, and topped several polls as the ideal choice for Britney’s next single. Her upcoming greatest hits album The Singles Collection which will be released on October 27th will include 2 leftover tracks from Circus recording sessions ,as well as some new tracks produced by Max Martin, and the Russ Castella production track “Dirty Girl”.
