Ke$ha’s Animal has knocked Susan Boyle from the #1 spot in the US with an impressive 152,000 copies sold last week. SuBo shouldn’t be dismayed though, she’s held the top spot for six weeks and in that time, she’s managed to rake in enough sales to make the second biggest selling album of 2009!
Meanwhile in Australia, Ke$ha’s Animal debuts at #4, while SuBo remains unchallenged on the top of our ARIA charts.
The next Ke$ha single ‘Blah Blah Blah’ makes an astonishing debut here at #7 based on downloads alone. Over in the States, ‘Blah Blah Blah’ also made #7 while other album gems like ‘Your Love Is My Drug’ and ‘Take It Off’ clocked #27 and #85 respectively.
Our girl, Sia’s new single ‘You’ve Changed’ debuted here at #42 this week. Expect the album We Are Born to drop sometime in April.
Meanwhile, it’s been the longest wait to hear the outcome of Sia’s writing session with Christina Aguilera. Xtina diva’s album Bionic is expected out in March with the single ‘Glam’ preceding it.
It’s another territory and another hit for Owl City’s ‘Fireflies’. The single got a physical release last week which saw the track bullet from #50 to #2 on the UK charts this week.
The entire nation must be captivated by the ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ tune! The Glee Cast cover soared from #99 to #5 on the UK chart, while at #6 sits the original version by Journey. Must’ve been the magic of Glee and Joe McElderry.
